LIVE EVENTS

I LOVE the live scene and thrive on the energy, pace and people that come with live events, productions and shows, competing with colleagues to see who can get the most steps in across a weekend, or seeing new artists and bands move from festival to festival, building their audiences and gaining momentum.

Over the course of my career, I’ve built experience across a wide range of live event roles, from production assisting on major performances including Idina Menzel at the Royal Albert Hall and Sherie Rene Scott at the London Hippodrome Casino, through to production and project management for events including The David Bowie World Fan Convention, The Bowie Ball at St George’s Hall and Liverpool Sound City.

I enjoy both the creative and organisational sides of live work: leading and running a show, keeping multiple moving parts on track, and creating the structure that allows artists, crews and teams to do their best work.

My experience includes:

+ production and project management

+ artist liaison and communication

+ creating and managing artist and venue advances

+ clarifying agreements, schedules and expectations

+ liaising with crew, technical teams, musicians and invited guests

+ facilitating meetings and coordinating teams

+ organising press and media activity

+ troubleshooting and responding quickly in live environments

I’m an excellent communicator, highly organised, quick-thinking and calm under pressure.

I enjoy working collaboratively, leading people, solving problems innovatively, and finding practical ways forward when plans inevitably change.

At Liverpool Sound City, I also led the festival’s Apply to Play process through Tunecore and Amplead, reviewing submissions from artists locally, nationally and internationally for consideration across the festival programme.

Drawing on my experience in theatre, I introduced a more structured approach to the selection process using a long-list, short-list and finalist framework. This helped create greater clarity around decision-making while also allowing us to provide constructive feedback to musicians and identify additional performance opportunities across the wider festival.

What I enjoy most about live events is bringing people, ideas and logistics together, creating an environment where the work can happen confidently, professionally and with a real sense of momentum.
