Hello. Welcome to my website. Thanks for coming to visit!

The aim with my website is to give you an idea about me and my practice, professional experience, what work I'm interested in developing, who I'm looking for, and an invitation for you to get in touch if you'd like to. I plan to add to it and develop it with resources, research, bits of writing, advice, a booking page, etc., but for now, we're here.

Some of you might have heard me talk about multi-hyphen / multi-passionate / portfolio careers before.

For me, this is a term I came across in 2021 when participating in a (literally, life-changing) weekly Zoom call, led by one of my favourite people, Theatre Director/Dramaturg, Kate Golledge. We were The Wednesday Directors - a group of intuitive, talented, driven, multi-passionate creatives.

I use it to describe those who have built a career made up of multiple different jobs and passions; developing high levels of skill in various areas of work/industries, gaining wider perspectives and experiences, having a 'slashie' job title, and usually, even though they're highly qualified and experienced, those people don't feel like they can 'fit' anywhere specific, or explain what they do (or can do!) in a clear, succinct way.

This is where I've been, it's where I am... or, who I am, and I know I'm not on my own.

I often describe my professional work and career to clients as 'straddling' the music and performing arts industry - with one foot in each, and then a whole arm currently stuck tight in the world of vocational performing arts training. 

I'm very proud of the unknowingly brave 20-something year old (me, by the way) who said 'yes' to every opportunity, as it has steered me into building a really varied and versatile skillset: from organising press/artist activities at Kendal Calling, to arranging harmonies, assisting on a show at The Royal Albert Hall, leading ensemble singing, teaching vocal tech, stage management, songwriting, producing plays, looking after famous people, writing poetry, progressing to a leadership role in a top drama school, tour programming, session singing, writing funding bids, workshops of new theatre, taking a show to Glastonbury, producing music... it's extremely rewarding to reflect upon, but it has been a tricky road to figure out how to establish and lock in on a solid professional identity.
 

So now, I'm here, burning all of my own expectations to the ground! With a revitalised approach to the work I can do and want to do, the confidence to start saying 'yes' to things again, the drive to connect with as many boss people as possible, and the willingness to be seen and heard for my creative work, skills, talents, and abilities.
As we all should.
